The Lighthouse of Alexandria: The Story Behind Pharos

The Lighthouse of Alexandria: The Story Behind Pharos

More than two thousand years ago, a towering beacon stood at the edge of the ancient world.  Known as the Lighthouse of Alexandria, or Pharos, it guided sailors safely through the bustling harbor of Alexandria, Egypt.

Built during the reign of Ptolemy II, the lighthouse was considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.  Rising above the Mediterranean shoreline, its flame illuminated the darkness and became a symbol of guidance, discovery, and hope.

At Pharos Candle Company, that same spirit inspires everything we create.

Just as the lighthouse helped travelers find their way home, we believe fragrance has the power to guide us back to moments of comfort, peace, and reflections.  Every candle, room spray, and reed diffuser is crafted to transform everyday spaces into personal sanctuaries.

The name Pharos is more than a tribute to history.  It represents illumination, exploration, and the timeless human desire to seek beauty and meaning.

From ancient shores to modern ritual, the flame continues to burn.

Illuminate Your World.
